Kazakhstan-Japan astronomy mini workshop has been held in Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute today, March 29, 2017. It included a wide range of topics -- observational techniques, computational astrophysics, gravitational waves, cataclysmic variables, and more.
8th Kazakhstan-China-Korea (KCK-8) workshop on stellar dynamics and related fields (star clusters, stellar evolution, gravitational waves, black holes in galaxies) was held in Kunming (China), Dec 19-21.
Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute was awarded Science Leader Award 2016 from National Center for Scientific and Technical Information and Thomson Reuters, as the most cited scientific organization in Kazakhstan during 2011-2015.
On September 13, 2016, at 14:00, we have a lecture by Klim Ivanovich Churyumov, who will talk about the results of the Rosetta mission to the comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko, discovered in 1969 at Fesenkov Astrophysical Institute.
