Education

1994 – graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Al-Farabi Kazakh State University (now now Al-Farabi KazNU) with a degree in Mechanics and Applied Mathematics, diploma with honors.

1994 – internship at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA, Houston, USA)

1998 – study at the International Space University (Cleveland, USA)

1999 – defense of the thesis for the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences under the guidance of E.A. Malkov. on the topic “Nonlinear models of the dynamic evolution of stellar systems”, Almaty

2001-2002, 2003, 2004 – study at the Institute of Computational Astronomy (Heidelberg, Germany)

Work experience

Dr. Omarov is one of the founders of computational astrophysics in Kazakhstan. 2007-2012 – Dr. Omarov was a co-Project Investigator of the German-Kazakh project on computational astrophysics funded by the Volkswagen Foundation in cooperation with Dr.Prof Spurzem Rainer (Astronomische Rechen Institut of Heidelberg, ZAH, Germany. Within the project, scientific fruitful contacts and internships were established between scientific groups. 2017-2019- Dr. Omarov was co-Project Investigator of China-Kazakh project funded by the National Astronomical Observatory of China led by with Dr.Prof Spurzem Rainer to study the dynamics of active galactic nuclei. Within the project, successful scientific ties, internships between scientific groups were established.Dr. Omarov managed to build a team of young scientists with international research experience in modeling of the N-body problem.

Today Dr. Omarov is a supervisor of 2 PhD students. 2015-2017- Dr. Omarov was Project Investigator of the Institute scientific program: “Astrophysical studies of stellar and planetary systems”, within the framework of the program-targeted funding of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MES RK). 2018-2020 – Dr.Omarov is Project Investigator of the Institute scientific program: “Research of physical processes in extragalactic and galactic objects and their subsystems”, within the framework of program-targeted funding of MES RK.

In 1997, 2000, 2002, 2006 – Dr. Omarov was a scholarship holder of the State scientific scholarship for young and talented scientists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
